This project began in July 2019 and was complete by late November 2021. The project entailed building a westbound Express Lane between the Veterans Memorial Tunnels to the Empire Interchange, a 12-mile stretch along the I-70 corridor west of Denver, Colorado.
Other work included upgrading ramps, replacing most of a soundwall at Exit 239 in Idaho Springs, making improvements to the CO 103 Bridge at Exit 240, and adding safety guardrail and emergency pullouts site wide. Crews also improved the Port of Entry and Weigh in Motion station at Exit 234 in Downieville.
